Fluororesin PTFE | Basics of Material Molding

We achieve stable processing quality with optimal material shaping tailored to the intended use and shape.

What is the molding of fluororesin materials? The molding of fluororesin (mainly PTFE) refers to the process of forming materials such as "rods, sheets, and special shapes" used for machining and secondary processing by applying pressure and sintering powdered raw materials. The density of the material and the presence of internal defects (voids) significantly affect the machinability of subsequent processes and the quality of the final product. Direct Pressure Compression Molding Direct pressure compression molding is a method where PTFE powder raw material is filled into a cylindrical mold and shaped by applying pressure directly from above. It is suitable for relatively large-sized materials and simple shapes, and is characterized by ease of size and shape adjustment. It is widely used as a general-purpose material for rod and block materials for machining. Isostatic Molding Isostatic molding is a molding method that applies uniform pressure to the entire raw material using water pressure (hydrostatic pressure). Due to the uniform pressure application, it is less likely to produce internal density variations or voids, enabling the molding of strong, void-free materials. It can also accommodate materials for high-quality products such as thin-walled shapes and container shapes, as well as special shapes that are close to the final form.
